NFL Update!
Hello everyone welcome to my blog today will be my very first post. The subject of my first post will be a review of the NFC and AFC Championship games.
NFC Championship:
This game was one of the most exciting games I have ever seen! It had everything you could want as a fan explosive offense, hard hitting defense, and exciting drama. In my mind there were three reasons why the Saints won the game 31 to 28!
1. The Saints defense were able to get alot of pressure on Vikings QB Brett Favre. The Saints defense had 15 QB pressures, and hit Brett six times which forced alot of quick throws that resulted in tow picks and many incompletions. Along with the two interceptions the forced six fumbles and recovered three of them!
2. Drew Brees the Saints QB went 17/31 for 197 yards and three touchdowns and zero interceptions.
3. Lastly the Saints were playing at home and feed off of the crowd noise to hit the game winning kick in overtime.
AFC Championship:
This Game featured the Indianapolis Colts versus the New York Jest. The Colts were the big favorites coming into this game. The story of this game was Peyton Manning the Colts QB taking over the game from the end of the second quarter on. With two minutes and eleven seconds remaining in the first half the Colts trailed 17 to 6. Bu that is when the momentum turned and Manning threw three passes to Austin Collie for 80 yards for a touchdown to make the game 17 to 13 at halftime.
From there on the Jets dominated the game scoring 17 second half points and holding the Jets to zero points in the second half. So the story of the game was Peyton Manning going 26/39 for 377 yards and 3 touchdown passes with zero interception. Secondly the Colts defense holding 86 yards rushing and no points in the second half!
