NFL Update!
Well I’m back baby, and with this post I am going to give you my first mock draft of the top ten picks! My complete mock draft will come next when I can do more research. I will list who I think each team is going to take and why they will!
1. Saint Louis Rams- The Rams will draft Sam Bradford QB out of Oklahoma. The Rams need a franchise QB in the worst way, while I believe Clausen would be the best choose here it seems the Rams like Bradford better because of his accuracy and leadership abilities.
2. Detroit Lions- The lions need help along their defensive line to stabilize their run defense and pass rushing ability. There are two top defensive linemen in this draft Gerald McCoy and Ndamukong Suh. Suh is a better stabilizing force against the run and McCoy is better at getting in the backfield so it’s 50/50 here. So I would go for Suh!
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- The Bucs run a Tampa 2 defensive scheme and they need to get younger and more talented on defense. With Suh off the board McCoy is the easy choice here!
4. Washington Redskins- The Redskins need offensive line help drastically, so they will take the best offensive lineman in the draft Russell Okung. Okung has great size and agility so he fits well here because they need to give help to their QB Jason Campbell.
5. Kansas City Chiefs- The Chiefs need help in their secondary and I believe they will go with Eric Berry Safety out of Tennessee. He will bring physicality and toughness as well as the ability to cover from the safety position!
6. Seattle Seahawks- The Seahawks really need help on their offensive line with hall of famer left tackle Walter Jones retiring they need a franchise left tackle to protect QB Matt Hasellback so they will go with offensive tackle Trent Williams out of Oklahoma.
7. Cleveland Browns- Even though the Browns president Mike Holmgren said he doesn’t really like Jimmy Clausen but their QB’s Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace are not long term solutions so they need to try and find a franchise QB, so they will take Clausen here.
8. Oakland Raiders- You never know what the Raiders are going to do with Al Davis, so they could take anyone. But they need offensive line help so I think they will take Bruce Campbell out of Maryland.
9. Buffalo Bills- The Bills need some offensive play makers so I believe they will take Dez Bryant WR out of Oklahoma St. Bryant will give the Bills a big playmaker who can go up and get the ball at its highest point.
10. Jacksonville Jaguars- The Jaguars need help on their defensive line because their two starters Quentin Groves and Derrick Harvey combined for just two sacks lat year so they will go with a defensive end here. While I believe Everson Griffen is the best DE in the draft this year the Jaguars are worried about how he has a tendency to take plays off. So they will go with defensive end Derrick Morgan out of Georgia Tech. He has a great motor and has the heart to succeed.
